Eastern Congo

Our Work

In Eastern Congo, we provide monthly webinars for pastors, chaplains, and other Christian ministers from several cities, including Goma, Bukavu, Butembo, and Béni. The topics include spiritual growth and Spirit-led leadership, with a particular emphasis on living by faith and serving in a war zone. Several of Dr. Tim’s books have been translated into French and one is also in Swahili. They are being distributed to pastors in the cities and villages. Annually, Tim also teaches a short, intensive course online for one of the local Christian universities in Goma (ULPGL).

2026 Goals

To provide unique educational opportunities for Congolese pastors, chaplains, teachers and theological students via webinars related to spiritual growth and leadership in the context of ongoing war, poverty, disease, and suffering; and to teach, inspire, and encourage pastors through giving small humanitarian gifts to select individuals and selling or giving copies of our books, which have been translated into French and Swahili for their own use and in their congregations.

  1. Teach one-week intensive course online for ULGPL (the Christian university in Goma) theological students (May)

  2. Finish conducting Spirit-led Leadership monthly training sessions on “Saying Yes to God” for Congolese chaplains in Goma and Bukavu (Jan-April)

  3. Print and sell/distribute a Swahili translation of Que Pouvons Nous Attendre de Dieu Maintenant? (What Can We Expect from God Now?) into Swahili.

  4. Continue program of distributing humanitarian aid to select pastors along with free copies of one of our books in their language (ongoing)

  5. Initiate a new series of webinars for pastors in several Eastern Congo cities
